I’m so over living in a 95-year-old house. Why, you ask? Because we have RODENTS in our house, and we got to spend time last weekend, on the PRECIOUS stinking weekend whose hours I value more than coffee, hunting for a damn mouse. Again.
Because we didn’t record it last time (sadly, there was indeed a last time) on PlaiduhPus’s request, I brought out the video camera this time. Note to self- career outlook as a videographer, pretty bleak!
SO looking forward to the move to the 64-year-old house in TWO days. Woo hoo!

Lol! I wouldn't worry too much about the age of the new house per se — a lot of the houses where I live are early 20th century or older, and rodents are thankfully not guaranteed by any means!
That said, my sisters had mice once, and they got one of those plug-in gizmos that gives off a high-pitched sound to scare the mice away. Apparently you get a lot of spiders running around for the first week or so, because the noise scares them too, but the mice were gone for good! Might be something to keep in mind

We are so on the same page sister! I live in a 100 year old brownstone and mice seem to be plentiful. I bought those high pitched noise things (not cheap either) and a week after I plugged them all in, we caught a mouse in a trap so I don't have a lot of faith in them. Congrats on the move though… may your new home be fertile filled and mouse free! — Jay

We had a mouse the fall of 2008. I had just had my 2nd baby and was tired as can be. One night after one of many feedings, I went to the bathroom before going back to bed. While I was there on the potty I saw a mouse dash by and run under the closet door. I thought i was delusional from sleep deprivation (we've NEVER had mice before this). That damn mouse RUINED my life for a month. HE roamed the whole house, contaminated and ate most of the food in our pantry (had to throw out everything!) and left his calling card in corners around the house. ONE MOUSE only! We had traps everywhere and he evaded us for weeks. We finally cornered him one night and got him in a trap. I STILL HAVE BAD dreams about mouse infestations (i'm not even scared of them). SUCH a violation of my house!! GAH! I hate mice!
Much More Than Mommy
Ewwww! Get the mouse, GET THE MOUSE!!
