Still waiting on the scoop from Mortgage Man about what the hell happened that made my credit score drop since November? But praying that everything is fine and just proceeding as planned until we hear otherwise. We had our housing inspection yesterday, and it all went good! The things that were found are minor (the garbage disposal doesn’t work, etc.) and are all things we’re happy to take care of. The house is an absolute disaster with the cleaning out and sorting for the estate sale (it belonged to a woman who died suddenly) but its fun to imagine what we can do with the space and how it will look. The house has a massive amount of ‘stuff’ in it and her family is on the coast, so we’ve offered the family the option to just leave whatever isn’t sold in the estate sale and we can deal with it. It will be a lot of work, but we’ve got a two month overlap with the new house and the house we’re renting, so we’ll have time to clean out and then do all the painting, removing carpet, etc. that we’re planning. Its going to be a busy spring!

Yes, I’m at Marmot’s family home, and I’m craving Zen. Coincidence, I am sure.

I tend to be more minimalist than traditional….with the minimalism stopping just shy of stark or cold. My bedroom has always been my sanctuary, and I find that muted tones, colors rather than patterns, and minimal wall decor are my preference. Especially after the craziness of the holidays, that creates what I consider a calming and welcoming place to hide relax.

Have you ever decided if you should be (or should have been) a Boy Mom or a Girl Mom? My sisters and I came up with this probably ten years ago, that some women seem more suited to children of the opposite sex….and other are perfectly suited for what they have, or a combination. I think I’m a Boy Mom.

I’m not so much a girly girl, and have pretty much always sworn that any little girl of mine would have a non-pink bedroom. But these little girly rooms make me turn into pink cotton candy on the inside! All the cutesy goodness, and suddenly I’m imagining pink bows in my little girls hair….and the pink isn’t obnoxious in these nurseries, and sometimes not even overly pink at all!

Ok, so the purpose of this blog is the Baby Bucket List. And the BBL came out of an intense desire to get pregnant, along with a recognition of the timing being really really bad, and a need to have something constructive to do in the meantime.

And some un-constructive things to do. Like obsessing over nursery decor. My current obsession is murals, and I have a Baby Room folder on my desktop with the ideas I’ve come across….and here is a very (very) small sample….
